And this was nothing new, simply part of the world's cycleA long, long time ago, a lone god split Themselves into 15 pieces, casting their power into 13 Stars for life to harness, their body into the heavens and their heart...No one knows where their heart has gone.But this is hardly relevant now.
Presently, three factions fight to bend this world to their will. Libra Corp, with the intention of maintaining balance and not changing anything further. CHESHIRE, a rebel (or terrorist, depending on who you ask) group made of mostly ABs who wish for true freedom in a survival of the fitness style anarchy, and the Church of Eden, a cult that aims to bring about true order for humanity (and only humanity).Magic and ABsABs - Anomalous Beings. These can be anything from a dust bunny under your bed coming to life, an urban legend like Bloody Mary or a full realm that unwitting people stumble into. Often referred to 'demons' casually, the most powerful are the angels, those with stars in their eyes.ABs enter into the mundane world in the places where leylines overlap with the parallel world. Humans near these crossings are more likely to be born with or develop the ability to perceive ABs and cast 'magic'.Libra Corp is currently in the process of assesing if ABs are truly abnormal, or the natural state of the world before several rewrites...(this is highly simplified because I could write a whole novel and most of it isn't 100% relevant to the two characters here~)
